The "parts" in "Export parts" does not mean a selected section of a score. It means a "Part" in the official sense of File / Parts - the individual linked score degenrated for each instrument in the score. So selection has no effect on this command. And if you have not generated any parts, there is nothing to export. But you should get a file containing the full score, and I do in the current nightly builds. I think the Beta may have had issues, but in any case, it was not designed to ework on a selection of a score, so I suspect this is just a misunderstanding over the purpose of the function.
If you think something is not working correctly in a current nightly build, please post the score you are having problems with and step by step instructions to reproduce the issue.
