Implode - tracks from midifike
I am importing a huge orchestral midi file from Cubase
The cubase file has different tracks for articulations (violin 1 arco, violin 1 pizz, violin 1 spicatto etc etc.)
If I implode these tracks, muscore puts them into separate layers. When I laboriously change them all to layer 1 I get unwanted rests. It will take weeks to remove the rests individually.
There must be a better way. (The file I’m working on is an entire symphony)
Since downloading , I’ve done all my writing in muscore - it is brilliant, (actually, an answer to decades of wishful prayer)
Thank you to all the people who have contributed.

I don't know about spicatto, but in the case of arco and pizzicato, they will not overlap. So you'll have THIS measure that is Voice 1 (arco) and THAT measure that is Voice 2 (pizz.). In THAT measure use Tools / Voices / Exchange voices 1-2 and use the Selection Filter to delete the rests from Voice 2.
No, there is no better way.

Spiccato is basically the same as staccatissimo, IIRC

Thanks, I guess I was hoping for something much more “automatic”

You could write a plugin to delete all rests in voices 2, 3 and 4. It's very simple and would run very quickly.

That would be wonderful, but I have no idea how to write a plugin

If the rests and nothing else are in voices 2, 3, 4 you can use the selection filter to select only those voices and then just press delete to delete them all in one go. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/selecting-elements#exclude-range
