Problems to open, save and export files with 3.6.2 version in Ubuntu (Linux)
Hi, gang!!!
I use MuseScore 3.6.2 with Ubuntu Studio 24.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux).
I still use that version because the last 4.5.2 still has some "bugs" with Linux (Not Jack capabilities, Random Stuttering sound, Distortion with some sounds, etc.).
Since a year or something I have been experimented a very weird problem when I try to open, save and/or export musecore files in my three computers (two desktops, one laptop, all of them with same operating system).
The specific problem is... Musescore takes a very, very, very, very long time to open, save and/or export a file to/from the computers HDD.
It is more evident when I try to export some score to PDF. I could to wait 7 minutes up to the panel with the folder and file name appears on the screen!!!
It is the only one software I have with this problem, so... IT IS NOT something related with the system itself.
I don't remember this issue before.
Even more, this behaviour ISN'T present when I use the old MuseScore 3.0.2 (which is installed by default with Ubuntu Studio).
Also, the last MuseScore 4.5.2 doesn't have any kind of problems with open, save and/or export files.
So... it is only something specific with the 3.6.2 version.
I read about some 3.7 version somewhere, but I know it is to MS-Windows only.
So... I wonder... Does somebody have some idea about how to fix this?
Or... Is there some full CERTIFICATED opinion to definitely leave the 3.6.2 version and to start to use ONLY the last 4.5.2 version WITHOUT any further problems?
Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

No, my MuseScore 3.7 Evolution is not Windows only, it is available for Windows, Mac (Intel and Apple silicone) and Linux (here even for arm-based ones), see https://github.com/Jojo-Schmitz/MuseScore/wiki
But you sure can install 4.5.2 in parallel to 3.6.2 (and 3.7 as well)

Hi Jo-jo!!!
Sorry because the delay (I've been busy because extra job, here).
Please, tell me... Where is the Linux version of your 3.7 version? ???
I just can see Windows and Mac versions in that page you gave.
BTW. I'm suspecting my problem is about the internal Files Manager of MuseScore 3.6.2. I'm not a programmer but... I guess this part of the program is expecting to use some library which is not present in my Ubuntu Studio 24.04.2. If that was the problem... Is there a way to fix this? I'm talking about to get that missing library.

Linux versions of my MuseScore 3.7 Evolution are at the same spot as the macOS and Windows versions
I have Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and MuseScore 3.6.2, 3.7.0 and 4.5.2 on the same computer and I do not have the problems you described. I use very often all this versions. Maybe the problem is the version 24.04 LTS of Ubuntu.

It is obvious an Ubuntu Studio 24.04.2 LTS issue. The question is... Which is missed? ??? Some library? Some tool? ???
Maybe try the advanced preferences setting for nativeFileDialog

THAT WAS THE SOLUTION!!!
Jojo, You are a genius!!!
I just go to Preferences, Advance Tab, and looked for the variable "ui/application/usenativeDialogs" and I unchecked that box.
Now I can open/save/export files into a reasonable time.
Thanks a lot, Jojo!!!

It used to be unchecked by default on Linux, for exactly this reason

Thanks you so much, Jojo!!!
BTW: I never changed it by myself. Even more, I didn't know any about that. I don't know how it could be changed.
