Odd text appearing in my footers

• Nov 4, 2014 - 01:00

See below. I'm trying to change the font and the size, but it seems to want to default to the Lucida Grande.

Attached is the actual score. I just wanted to change the font and size for the page numbers, but simply tying in the correct values doesn't work. It adds the script text to the footer. I'm sure I'm just doing it wrong. I've already specified the font I want for my footers in Style/Text (Adobe Caslon Pro), but it keeps reverting to Lucida Grande. I change the script to this:

$P

But after I save and reopen the file, it changes, all by itself, to this:

<font size="12"/><font face="Adobe Caslon Pro"/>$P

I just want to change the font and size. Lucida Grande is ugly.

Edited to add: The scripts I'm typing in here are deleted in the preview. I have no idea why, but you can see what I'm talking about in the screen capture above and the file itself. Thanks.

The notation $P seems to be some internal notation (the <> part should not appear ?). When one change the font there is a new <> part which is added. More, the requested font name is not included. In my case (Linux Mint17) this end with

<font size="9"/><font face="Sans Serif"/>$P
