range select buttons to select only notes, etc.
in MS3 after you do a range selection, you're presented with some buttons that will allow you to select only notes, only slurs, and only something-else-I-can't-remember. Did this functionality go away in MS4? I find the Selection Filter to be a clunky way to handle this, although I guess it would get the job done.

It should be the same in Mu4, with right click, select, more

Sorry, I realize now I should have included a screenshot from MS3. It's these buttons I'm wanting back. I'm wondering whether they've just moved or if they're not a part of MS4.

Ah, yes, these seem to be gone

I'm surprised to hear MSS4 can't do that. Should go to github for feature request of what they removed.
Meanwhile, "3.7" can do a chord level selector in addition to it (I think, at least it's on a personal build and should be in 3.7 too):
After doing the Range Selection, you have to right-click on a notehead to get the popup menu which includes Select > More... > Select notes
[EDIT]
... and similarly:
- after the Range Selection, right-click on a grace note to get Select > More... > Select notes > Same type
- after the Range Selection, right-click on a rest to get Select > More... > Element type: Rest
- after the Range Selection, right-click on a tie to get Select > More... > Element type: Tie segment

it looks like "Similar in this range" works for noteheads after right-clicking one of them in a range, so it's not too bad.

yeah I miss the button but there's workarounds. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't just overlooking something.

The Selection Filter is SOOOOO much better: all of those options and SOOOOO much more. You just have to remember to do it first, i.e., before making the range selection.

The selection filter doesn't allow you to select just notes or just rests.
The select similar facility from the right click menu does allow this and can be invoked after making a range selection.
