I think this is a bug, but perhaps someone will tell me differently.

OS X 10.10.1 Musescore NB 3fca041

I saw this when editing a larger score, so I decided to try it on a smaller scale.

Steps which I replicated in a small test file:

1. Create a new score of 10 measures.
2. Add a double barline to the end of measure 5.
3. Select and delete measures 6-10 using Edit -> Measure -> Delete Selected Measures
4. Barline at the end of measure 5 is still the double barline instead of the end barline.

I added three screen shots to demonstrated. To me, the last measure should ALWAYS have the end barline. Maybe someone can explain why not.

You might not want a "final" barline - this "score" might be just an example for inclusion in a textbook, or a section of a piece intended to be combined with other sections via the "album" feature", etc. So it definitely needs to be *possible* to not end with a final barline, and you can always change the barline style back to double. Of course, if the default were changed, then people who "don't* want the final barline could replace it. So it's not a big deal either way. but I would agree it probably makes sense to replace the existing bar line by default - *unless* it's a repeat, in which case we should probably keep it.

There are more cases where you don't want the last barline to be an end barline: if you have a "D? al Fine", there You'd probably want the end barline at the Fine
