Changing initial tempo has no effect on playback
If you enter a tempo in the new score wizard and decide to change it later, playback will continue using the original tempo. If you delete the tempo from the score and insert a new marking from the palette, it will be reflected in playback as well.

Please, when filing issue reports, say which build you are using, and include the score you are having problems and precise step by step instructions to reproduce.
I cannot reproduce this using a current build and a score I create myself.
I'm using 2.0 beta 1 on Debian (deb package).
This time, I'm attaching the score I created.
I believe you are seeing #32911: Tempo marking added by the New Score Wizard doesn't follow text, which was fixed some time ago. If you find you can reproduce this with a score created from scratch in a current build, feel free to re-open.
