Combining material from two scores

• Jan 28, 2015 - 21:06

Can someone please help me with combining the standard notation on one page with it's matching tablature from another page? I have generated two test pages. One with tab and one with the standard notation. What do I do next to combine them on one page? Also, can I print and/or display just the tab or just the standard notation from a combined score?

I am trying to avoid having the tablature show a shared note (a note with a stem going both up and down) as two notes on two strings in the tab. The feature that hides the duplicate note, prints out as a grayed out note and is confusing. So by generating the two parts separately I can have a proper looking finished piece. I am new to all of this.

The greyed out note is for screen display only; it wouldn't print that way. So that's definitely the way to do this.

I mean, you can certainly copy and paste two separate scores to combine them, but that's not the way to have standaard & tab versions of the same score. This is precisely what linked staves were designed for. Even if you don't want them linked for whatever reaosn, you sholdn't create them as separate scores - create one score with two staves, then generate the parts. But again, linked staves really are the way to go.
