Hyphen in lyric doesn't appear at start of next line
1. Open attached score (produced in 1.3).
Result: No hyphen appears at the start of the next line.
Note: Page 448 of 'Behind Bars' states: "A word divided over a system break takes a hyphen at the end of the first system. When the syllable is complete on the first note of the new system, it is clearest to add another hyphen (although some editions omit this)." She later states: "Note that when there is a change of key signature or time signature at the end of the system, the hyphens should stop short of the barline."

What if you add more notes after the system break and before the closing syllable, so that there is more room for the hyphen? Does it appear?
I disagree with Gould here. It's not just "some editions" that omit the hyphen on the continuation - it's quite standard if the syllable occurs on the first note of the system. Only if there is a melisma, so the word does not continue on the first note, would a dash normally appear. I'm sure different editors do it differently, and an option to get the Gould behavior might be nice some day, but it's not wrong to do as we do, and I dare say what she describes in the exception, not the rule.
