Setting 'mute' on a voice of a (trumpet) staff doesn't work

Project
  1. create new score
  2. add trumpet
  3. add some notes
  4. add staff text to a note
  5. right click that staff text, staff text properties
  6. set voice 1 or even all voices to mute

Expected result: sound changes to muted trumpet

Actual result: no change in sound and that setting hasn't been recorded at all, as can be verified with another right click that staff text, staff text properties.

There is that too (shouldn't one be selected by default?) - this is probably what Jojo was talking about, whilst I was thinking about something else (MIDI action). Apologies.

Damn, right...
It is pretty hard to see whether they are selected or not, and they should by default, shouldn't they? Or at least save the state of the popup, even if no voice is selected

I have issues with the design of this dialog for sure. I think the reason voices are not selected by default is that this would mean the default action for staff texts would be to reset channel to normal. I think better would be to have an explicit checkbook to enable the tab, as is done for Swing Settings. Or, have act of selecting a channel automatically select all unselected voices.

It's probably now or never for this type of change...
