1. 'File'>'New…'.
2. 'Edit'>'Special Characters...'.
3. Drag 'LONG RIGHTWARDS DOUBLE ARROW' to entry.

Result: It appears as a box.

Note: Only applies to some objects.

Workaround: Double-clicking objects is fine.

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build 12b4b1c - Mac 10.7.5.

This is probably Mac-only, hence the title.

Some observations:

The Special Characters window is not on top.

Objects characters cannot be dragged into text (if in edit mode) once the score is made (double-clicking is fine).

On a previous commit on Mac 10.10.2, it seems the characters appeared twice if double-clicking (single click had no effect).

I don't know how the mac special characters facility works, but I assume it can only add characters actually otesent at the expected location in whatever font you happen to be using at the moment. In which case, what you describe would be expected behavior if in fact your current font does not contain that character. Have you verified that it does?

My result said "double", instead of "box" - corrected.

The font probably is there as double-click works fine, it's just dragging that's the problem.
