Missing bar lines
I've used Musescore 1.3 to build a 6-part song. It has empty staves here and there NOT FOUND: 2014 A301 Own Cumha na h-Oighe.mscz . It displays fine until I set Style > Edit General Style > Score > Hide Empty Staves after which bar lines disappear in the first 16 bars.
This is a Gaelic (Scottish) song.

Unfortunately, 1.3 has some pretty serious issues with Hide Empty Staves, this being but one of them. The problem has to do with hiding staffs if barlines are extended through them. See #6107: Multi-staff barlines break with hide empty staves..
The good news is, this and many other issues with Hide Empty Staves are fixed in current 2.0 builds.

- It is worth to try the new beta version or Nightly: http://musescore.org/en/download#Nightly-versions
- You can change the barlines (if it is acceptable for you) see attachment.
