0 byte MuseScore 2.app in the Desktop directory

When launching the MuseScore 2 release candidate a "MuseScore 2.app" file with a 0 byte size is created in the Desktop directory.

Every time I delete the file it gets re-created upon launch of MuseScore.

Perhaps relevant: prior to installing the MuseScore 2 release candidate to the Applications folder, I think had been keeping the beta in the Desktop directory.

This is on OS X 10.9.5.
