png images wander into other scores or disappear

• Jun 27, 2015 - 06:58

I recently upgraded from Musescore version 1.3 to Musescore 2.0 for Linux Debian Jessie. I really like the added features of version 2.0 but am having issues when I open my 1.3 scores with version 2.0.

I like to drag and drop png images (for instance ukulele chord images, or pictures) onto blank regions of the score. Most of my scores are in version 1.3. When I use 2.0 to open the scores created in version 1.3, some of the images disappear or become blank. If I have two scores open in Musescore I have witnessed the images from one score appear in the other score.

Example: The attached files were created in version 1.3 and opened in version 2.0. The png chord images from hhymn 58 have appeared as duplicates in Handel SARABAND, and the png chord images from Handel SARABAND have disappeared. I did not drag and drop those images from one score to the other.

I expect the solution might be to open scores with the version used to create them.

I'm afraid I don't see what you see, both score look more or less identical in 1.3 and 2.0.1

Oh, hold on, now I see it too, very weird.
Does not happen when opening them one at a time though

MuseScore 2.0.1
Windows 7 sp1 Pro

I can confirm this very strange behavior...
1. Open Handel Saraband and take note of the chord diagrams. (I saved a screenshot in the Windows Paint program.)
2. Close Musescore completely.
3. Open hhymn 58. Notice the chord diagrams. Do not close Musescore.
4. Now, open Handel Saraband. Notice the chord diagrams . They have changed into the same chords as hhymn 58 !!

test

Regards.

I think this might be an example of #41346: Image is loaded from previous file. I think the issue is that the file names for the images are the same between the two scores, and MuseScore is getting confused since it thinks it already has the images loaded.

Workaround for now would be to close and restart MuseScore when switching between scores that have same-named images. Obviously, not ideal, but I think that's the current status.

Thanks everyone, I am beginning to understand why the images are wandering around like the occupants of Hogwarts paintings. Although each image has a unique name, for instance (lg)Gm(5th fr).png, I never import the image using a file name. Instead, I drag and drop the little icon directly from my file manager into the score.

I will attach the above named png file to this message, in case that is useful.
