Attempting to open a faulty file does nothing (0.9.6 branch regression)
Steps to reproduce bug
1. Open a faulty file such as My Blue Heaven rev 1h 08162010.mscz
Expected behavior: An error message saying something like:
MuseScore cannot open the file: "My Blue Heaven rev 1h 08162010.mscz"
Actual behavior: The is no indication that MuseScore tried to open the file.
MuseScore version: 0.9.6.3 release candidate (r. 3497). In previous versions of MuseScore (such as 0.9.6) it at least showed a blank tab to indicate that it tried.

I did this modification. An empty tab was not helpful.
In the trunk I will add the error message.
This has since been implemented.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (5497) - Mac 10.7.3.
This is a bug report on the 0.9.6 branch (not 1.2 branch), not the nightly builds. If any future releases will be made on this branch, the bug should remain active. If the 1.2 branch is fully retired then I suggest closing as "won't fix".
As far as I understood the decision to not work on the branch anymore is cast in concrete

No, I meant what I said. I opened that score in 1.2 and got an error message
