1) Create a piano score.
2) Create another piano score (leaving the other open) with the exact same specifications.
Expected result: A second score should appear.
Actual result: It fails to appear (or replaces the other).
Using MuseScore 1.0.0 pre-release 2 (3949) and Mac 10.4.11.
Comments
The only "specification" during the new score wizard that needs to be the same is the Title.

2.0 wasn't included in the original report, but it applies there.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (a8835be) - Mac 10.7.4.
This seems fixed.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (361ce83) - Mac 10.7.5.
Still able to reproduce using ee5bbfb - Windows 7.
You're right - sorry. Should we upgrade the priority?
1. Create score with a title.
2. Create another score with the same title.
Result: It doesn't appear.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (361ce83) - Mac 10.7.5.
Can result in loss of data if the first score was not saved.
Can't result in data loss from what I can see. If the "dirty" flag (*) is set because you added notes, you are asked in both versions to save first.
