[MusicXML import] sound element's tempo attribute ignored

The MusicXML documentation says that the sound element "can stand alone within a part/measure, or be a component element within a direction," and the example found here has a sound element with a tempo attribute as a child of a measure element. When I try importing a file like this into MuseScore, though, it ignores the tempo marking and defaults to 120 bpm. If, however, I put the element in a direction element, MuseScore imports it correctly (see file).
