MuseScore file to Midi file

• Aug 14, 2015 - 14:19

I am a new music publisher and a collegue of mine wants to get her music
published by me. She is an user of MuseScore and I am an user of both Encore
and Finale. I tried to make midifiles from het MuseScore files but I only get
the Right hand part of a piano part. The Left hand part is not being
converted. What can I do to solve this problem? When I have a complete Midi file I can import the Midi.
(If I can ask and get answers in dutch I would prefer.)
Thank you for helping.

Regards, Ben

to get score information from MuseScore to Encore or Finale you really shouldn't be using MIDI, but MusicXML.
And we can't do anything with the PDF you attached, we'd need to see the actual score, the mscz file and maybe the MIDI file to check why there something might be missing

For replies in Dutch you may be better off in http://musescore.org/nl/forum/38

Windows Media Player plays both hands of that MIDI file, if Encore or Finale don't, I guess they have a bug? However, as said earlier, you should really go got MusicXML to export from MuseScore and import into other score writers and vice versa, this is what that format got invented for

Ben, MuseScore exports directly in MusicXML format, and Finale has been able to import it directly for years.

No need to download anything.

Just go to the MuseScore File menu, select Export and then choose the MusicXML filetype from the drop down list.

Or, if your friend has a MuseScore.com account, you can download from there directly in MusicXML format.
