I can't figure out how to show the actual beats per minute instead of something like Andante or Adagio. How do I do this?

If you're using the 2.0.3 version, Alt+T should work as mentioned here: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tempo#tempo-marking

You get it from the download page, or Help/Check for update

FWIW, while 2.0.3 is the latest and you should be using it, Alt+T works on *all* versions of MuseScore. Very very old versions like 1.3 will require you to enter the BPM values manually using the F2 palette, but anything from the last year (2.0 or later) will enter BPM values automatically.
