Leading Note and Cadence
Knowing the definitions of leading note and cadence I tried answering the following questions.
But unable to workout. Could anyone share their comments upon it.
1) Which note is the leading note in this piece?
2) Name the cadence that ends this piece?

2) Since the least two measures go from V to I it looks like an authentic cadence to me.

V to I means, CEG to FAC should come...
But here, ACG to DDF is coming..
So how could this be termed as V to 1

This piece is in the key of D, not the key of F.

ah, thanks for that correction...
In that case, V-i is given by ACE to DFA...
But here, it is ACG to DDF..
So how to compare these...

The second beat of the next to last measure has A in the base, C on the bottom of the treble and E in the top line of the treble, so the chord is A-C-E which is a V chord in the key of D.
To make a chord it only take the 1st and 3rd, a chord of 1st and 5th is meaningless. The final chord is D-F which makes it a I chord.

ok. it's clear..
one thing---> Are you mentioning the E in the first line of the treble stave?
If so, is it a part of the chord. I thought A-C-G to be the chord as it lied in one straight line

the A-C-G is actually a V13 (or VII7) chord which you expect to resolve to a V chord since 13 (and 7) chords in classical music are not expected to be sustained, but always resolved.
