1) Load this test file: lute playback.mscz
2) Enter an extra bass eg 5 in second measure ("N", type 11 times down arrow -> enter the 5), then the 6 if wished, or simply the second extra bass, "a" with a single "slash", ie: /a (as second image)
3) Launch the playback:
Result: the numbers or the slashs are showed

Ditto with Italian tabs.
- The only way to avoid this display is to save and reload the score.

Title The last entered extra bass in lutes > to 7 courses is showed when launching the playback The last entered extra bass in lutes > to 7 courses is shown when launching the playback

For the record, a similar problem in the Master branch appeared after the merge of the support of bass string notations (August 2015: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/2113/files)

I reported it here in this comment: https://musescore.org/en/node/73686#comment-336946
"I spotted one or two unexpected things in the display at the time of playback (number 6 following the cursor over each time)"
Issue fixed, see the comment: https://musescore.org/en/node/73716#comment-337186
And the commit: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/commit/1dad6e284ec5a716c0d1ccd99…

So, I guess the current issue is close (or the same?), and it re-appeared, or was not "updated" when this feature was merged for version 2.1? Ie: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/3064
