Fixes
- Fixed an unexpected page stretching in "Edit style" dialog
- Fixed an issue with audio export on Windows, previously exporting to .FLAC or .OGG could result in an empty file that cannot be played
- Fixed an issue of harmony playback preferences. Previously, the real value of "Chord symbol playback" was not taken into account until the first toggle of this setting
- Fixed a potential crash that could occur when resizing the Piano Roll

For the time being, I suggest the 64 bit windows users wait. The install directory is currently wrong. I'll update this when I see it's fixed.

Same issue for 32 bit Windows.

To clarify, the link above (at least for all windows versions) points to an unstable prerelease. They're still working on getting it fixed.

I uninstalled and re-downloaded/reinstalled. The crashing problem stopped; however, the playback no longer talking to my computer (I get the dynamic playing screen, but no sound). This is 64-bit Windows. I see your advisement to wait; is this part of the problem set?

If you just updated and are having a crash problem, you have likely found #275837: MuseScore crashes during start-up while displaying "Start center". Workarounds are closer to the end of the thread. Try to double click a score to start MuseScore. If this works, turn off the start center in preferences and don't use it or MuseScore will crash.
The issue with the bad version download for Windows (of a development version) is now fixed.
Everyone who downloaded and installed those previously already should uninstall and download and install afresh.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I wish I read these comments before updating. My update keeps crashing

Uninstall, download again, install. But see also #275837: MuseScore crashes during start-up while displaying "Start center", which seems to happen again for some users, see the workarounds mentioned there, (again, towards the end)

If you downloaded the first version, it was put into a folder that said it was a development build and did not replace your previous version. If you update again, it will replace your previous version (and the wrong 3.5.2 will still exist).
If think you have probably found the #275837: MuseScore crashes during start-up while displaying "Start center" bug then start MuseScore by double clicking a score and disable the start center.

I just followed the auto-update process and I'm not sure if I did it before or after the initial download fix. Is there a way to check? Or maybe this: OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.2.311459983, revision: 465e7b6

A new version of Muse Score Portable has been released. Muse Score is a WYSIWYG music notation program that offers a cost-effective alternative to commercial programs such as Sibelius and Finale.
My musescore has not worked since I updated the program to version 3.5.2. The program simply crashes. Version 3.2.5 works fine on my PC. What happened?

There is no 3.2.5. But see above for a probably issue and its workarounds

My last version is from last year , but now I will wait for a new version and I will use the MS 2. Thanks!

Color me confused...
I am running 3.5.0.12799 since the Beta version was updated a while back. I use MuseScore daily yet not once has it advised me there was a new update, even when I check manually via Help/Check for Update as I have for weeks. When I do it says "3.5.0.12799 is currently the newest version available."
Now I discover there is 3.5.2. How come my version isn't telling me there is an update available?
FWIW - Check for new version of MuseScore is checked in Preferences/Update.

I tried several times and it still has been telling me I have the latest version since I updated to 3.5.0.12799...
...very strange.
I did download the 3.5.2 update and I will manually update later.

Usually there is more text given that just "error" which explains more closely what is failing. Please provide as much info as you can (on which OS are you installing?) so people here might actually have a chance at guessing what is going on.
I have Musescore 2.3.2
Is there an upgrade for a osx 10.12.6 that will allow me to open my 2.3.2 scores ?
Thanks

MuseScore 3.x runs in macOS 10.10 and later and does open MuseScore 2.x scores.
MuseScore 2.3.2 also can open all 2.x scores of course and also runs on your macOS. It is the latest and last 2.x.
