I couldn’t find real examples..
But I’ve encountered several times 3/4 time signature with secondary 6/8 in parenthesis, or other way around.

It would be nice if I can do this.

I'm a little late to this discussion, and I don't want to tilt the apple cart, but an additional issue with this concept is getting MS to respect the groupings and beam properties of the alternating measures. Is this request primarily a display issue, or is it tied to an actual musical function? Simply displaying the time signature as desired is one thing, and probably difficult enough as it is, but it does not address the musical/metrical function of the notation.

Traditionally, a split time signature such as this indicates a regular shift between the two metres in every other measure. (Occasionally though, it means that each measure "might" be one of the two, the answer to which is held in other contextual cues.) The difficulty as applies to MS is to have the program recognize and respect the beaming as appropriate to each implied metre.

Additionally, alternation between 3/4 and 6/8 is simpler than between 3/4 and 4/4. (or 5/4 for that matter) Is it even practical to expect MS to anticipate the correct number of beats in every other measure?

I apologize if this is outside the scope of this particular discussion, or if, indeed, it has already been addressed elsewhere, but it is something to be considered if split-metre notation is intended to be fully functioning in MS at some point.

I believe that is a very valid point. At some time a definition capability for two or maybe 3 times signatures listed like this would be a very nice addition to the capabilities. Another way to make this easier would be to allow beam settings to be copied if the allow copying of system items were implemented as requested in #165746: Request option to copy system elements with copy/paste (ALL ELEMENTS). It gets rather tedious setting the beaming in every measure and that would make it better.

I've brought up this issue several times: https://musescore.org/en/node/305902 for an amusing take grilling me on why I would ever want to do such a thing.

In its current version, the best one can do is to create the second time-signature by dragging numeral and parenthases glyphs from the symbols palette--but a bit of advice: make sure they match the music font you are currently using, they don't match by default.

So then are there plans to make this simpler in future versions?

Yey! Also if you have a time signature like 1/4 (notice that the width of 1 is smaller than 4) and you want to add something like (2/4) next to it then if there isn't 2 parenthesis to cover the whole signature (1 each side instead of 2 each side), then it will look bad. And still it's kind of anorthodox to do it the way it is shown in the first comment. Talking about something like that:
