Tempo text v Play Panel
I have a saxophone quartet score in 4/4 time and I can't work out what's going on with play back tempo.
If I mark the start of the score with tempo text crotchet = 120 it plays back at 80bpm. This is because the play panel tempo is set at 80bpm and with tempo text set at the start of the score the play panel slider won't change that 80bpm tempo setting.
If I delete the tempo text at the start of the score then I can go to the play panel and move the slider to set the tempo at 120bpm and it plays back at 120bpm.
Could you please explain what's going on here and explain the relationship between tempo text and play panel tempo setting.
Thanks.

Tempo text is for setting the tempo. Play panel is for temporary overrides, like when rehearsing

I should have said that I'm using MS2, but I presume it's the same.

It still works the same. The play panel does not change the score, it only affects playback on your computer. If you decide you like the tempo of 92, then you would need to change it in the score to make it permanent.
