Historically "Find" is indeed often placed under Edit. I agree it makes little logical sense, but it's the de fact standard. Microsoft's design guidelines even list it this way.
Still, I'm open to hearing evidence the industry might be changing.
If we were starting from scratch a general discussion about what is the most logical place to set a "Find" option in software in general, I would agree.
But ALL programs put "Find" under edit, and absence of direct editing function doesn't change that: Firefox has "Find" under "Edit"!
So doing something else in MuseScore doesn't seem the greatest idea to me.

Something other than the current Edit / Find? Do you maybe mean moving the search box itself?
My mistake: I didn't realise there was already a menu entry. I assumed it would be in "View" (like LibreOffice for example).

In MS, I expected "Find" under "View" because it has no direct editing function. But it's a minor point and I'm OK to close the issue.

To me it's a good discussion to have about menu reorganization especially for MuseScore 4, but this probably isn't the place.
