Number of lines in specific measure

• Feb 7, 2021 - 16:30

Hi friends,
I am transcribing some indigenous music and I need to insert certain measures with only one line. I can make the bars invisible, but I would like to have only one line. I can also put only one line on the instrument, but it stays like that in the whole score, and not in specific measures, as I need
Attached is an image of transcription in ethnomusicology that uses this resource. The second attachment is my attempt to do something like that. The invisible measures are filled with the letters A and B. I would like only those measures to have only one line. Is it possible?
thanks in advance and sorry about my english
Joao

To be clear, don't use the Change Instrument command within Staff/Part Properties - this does indeed change it for the whole score. Instead, you need to add an instrument change text (from the palette) to the specific place where you want to the change to occur (and then another to change back). There is also staff type change (also on text palette for some reason) that would let you change number of staff lines as well, but without any corresponding changes to sound.

I tried in the instrument text from text palette and didn't work. When i changed to percussion with one line, the measure keep the five lines. But with the staff type change worked! Just have to change again back to five lines.
One more question. The single line is aligned with the top line. Can i aline that with the middle line?
I attach here what i achieve.
Thank you very much!
