Symbol for Smooth Transition Between Pitches?
Is there a notation symbol that indicates a continuous change in pitch between two notes?
I'm not talking about legato, I'm trying to indicate sliding your finger up or down the violin to transition smoothly between two notes.
If this exists, what does it look like?
And does it exist in Musescore?
Edit: I might be looking for "Portamento"

If this is the right option, it doesn't work at all though

You added the correct symbol (glissando), but you didn't change the "Play style" to "Portamento" in the Inspector. Try that and it will sound much better :-).

Wow that helped a lot! Do you have an idea why that plucking-noice happens?
It's kind of weird as the instrument is actually bowed. (especially when using Portamento)

There is a known bug causing a weird glitch in the sound in some cases, see for example #315698: Portamento glissandos cause squeaking at end. The title says it's only when stretching more than octave, but I don't think that's true. Unfortunately I don't know what the trigger actually is, could be something to do with crossing boundaries between samples in the soundfont.

Thank you for the help, I'll post this score there then! :)
