Can't change default for Beams
Hi, having searched online and the forums, I see this seems to be recurring problem... With a 4/4 time signature I want quavers to be grouped in 2, not 4. I've right clicked the time signature, changed what I think is the default - by clicking the groups of 4 quavers into pairs - but the change doesn't seem to take effect. Quavers are ALWAYS grouped in 4.
I have worked out how to manually edit them but I would prefer to simply - ha, ha!!! - change the default.
I'm sure "it's obvious when you know" but what am I doing wrong - and why are 'simple' things like this SO frustrating?!

Yes, I had followed that many times but without it taking effect. I've FINALLY discovered that it does seem to work when you make the same change but ONLY via the 'Master' palette and NOT by "inspecting the time signature".
VERY frustrating - perhaps "obvious when you know".

It works via an existing time signature as well, but you probably have to re-apply it to the staff/score.

It works the same either way. Be sure to hit OK and not Cancel. And keep in mind it only affects the current staff. But you can add the customized time signature to your palette for easy reuse.
