Header tekst not evaluated
I have a number of pieces where I put our library number on top by putting the following in the header style: $:workNumber:

Can you share the score?
the text in the header style is evaluted in the issue... One can see the text on screendump 2.

I see the work number appearing there. If I change the "Work Number" field in Project Properties, the number on the score changes to match.

OK, nice catch. It is at least not a very clean conversion between versions

Can't get it to work.. worknumber is set to 222, as can be seen in the text in screendump 2.
Also tried to switch language to English (US), but no result...

As I said, it works for me. Perhaps there's some oddball configuration you have that I don't (or I have that you don't). *shrug*

stuff works, what doesn't work is your attempt to format itThat seems to be a regression in 4.4.0 vs. 4.3.2, ans should get reported on GitHub

Now reported in https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/24254
This is resoved in version 4.4.2
