Musescore 4.4 freezing
First I installed Musescore Studio 4.4 along with MuseHub. All I got was a blank screen. I then reinstalled Musescore after getting rid of MuseHub and I got all my compositions back. The trouble is when I tried to get back to work on one of the compositions the program froze. I literally can't do anything; the only thing I can do is play the piece by pressing space. Otherwise it remains frozen.

I would just like to add that the only way I can get out of the program is to go to the task manager and click End Task.

First, update to version 4.4.1

That is the version I currently have.

Are you saying that you're still suffering from this issue, fixed for 4.4.1? https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/24269
Or is it something else?

Or, Mac only: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/24431 ?

I don't have a Mac
Does it help to minimise and maximise the window again? (some people have reported that that helps for some issue)

I can't minimize and maximize the window. Everything is frozen.
I dropped in one of my files. PianoSonata1.mscz
Like I mentioned before, I can only play or stop if I press the space bar. None of the buttons
in Musescore 4.4 work.

Okay, then we're going to need a bit more information.
1. In Windows Explorer, enter
%LOCALAPPDATA%\MuseScore
into the address bar2. Create a ZIP file from the
MuseScore4
folder (by "compressing" it)3. Upload that ZIP file here; or if it is too large, email to

1) I don't have Window Explorer
2) I can't create a ZIP file
I tried downloading one of the older versions, like 4.1 but when I tried opening one of the programs it says it can't be opened. Guess I'm out of luck there too.

But you're using Windows, right? Then you certainly have Windows Explorer (that's just the official name of the program in which you view your files and folders). So, open any folder, then in the 'address bar' in that window, paste
%LOCALAPPDATA/MuseScore
and press Enter to navigate there.See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/zip-and-unzip-files-f6dde0a… how to create a ZIP file ('compressing').
You can also try using a "portable" version of MuseScore instead. This is a 'self-contained' version, that does not need to be installed. You can download it here:
4.4.1: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v4.4.1
4.3.2: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v4.3.2
In both cases you need the
.paf.exe
file.In reply to But you're using Windows,… by cbjeukendrup
I've given up on 4.4.1. I've downloaded 4.4.0 at least that one is working.
