3.2.3 score crashes 4.4.3
The attached score was last opened in 2019. When I open it in 4.4.3 I get the offer to convert it from 3.2.3, but when I click OK, Musescore Studio crashes
I wonder if you can get this score converted for me?
Thanks,
David

Opens just fine for me 4.4.3 on Windows 11
Interesting. I'm on a Mac with Sequoia and it doesn't open.

Same here (Windows10, 4.4.3), this score opens as normal

I have the same problem as you. On my ASUS with ubuntu 22.04 LTS and MuseScore 4.4.3 the score can not be open, MuseScore crashes immediately. The score can be open and saved with MuseScore 3.7.0 Evolution.
Try this 4.4.3 version. I opened your score in 4.4.3 and saved it.

Makes MSS 4.4.3 on Mac crash as well.
How about this one?

Also crashes on Mac with 4.4.3 unfortunately.
Yes. 4.3.4 still asks to convert from 3.2.3. but crashes after OK.
"I wonder if you can get this score converted for me?"
I think it's more a question of fixing a corruption. I was able to open the score in Mu 4.4.3:
OS: Windows 10 Version 2009 or later, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.3-242971445, revision: eb6b367
But when I tried to listen to the score it slowed to a crawl in bar 10. The problem there seems to be that visually there are 4 beats in the bar (including hidden rests) although the time signature is nominally still 3/4. And "Bar properties" reports the duration as 1547 / 64 :
Perhaps you can open this corrected Mu4 version? Bar 10 now has a duration of 3 / 4 . There are some missing notes in Piano1 for bar 10 and the layout throughout has been reset, but I hope the score is some help.

I wonder why this didn't get detected by the corruption check on opening that score

This looks absolutely valid.

Not really:
visually there are 4 beats in the bar
but
And "Bar properties" reports the duration as 1547 / 64
That doesn't fit, that'd be 96.some beats
You can have one or the other, but not both

This one doesn't open at all. I open the file and 4.4.3 immediately closes.
Thanks for following up on this.

Try this one. Interesting that there is so much problem trying to make a version that opens for you.

None of the proposed trials can be open under MuseScore4.4.3 and OS Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The problem occurs not only at mesure 10 but also at mesure 343. I have tried yo correct this mesures under MuseScore 3.7.0 by adding a new mesure 11 and 344, then copy note by note and rest by rest to the new created mesures, an then I have dele the corrupted one. I could playback the whole score without any problem. I then save the result without problem under MuseScore 3.7.0 in the hope to be able to open it later under MuseScore 4.4.3. Unfortunately MuseScore 4.4.3 was crashing immediately. i.e the problem seems to be a real bug under systems different from Windows .
I can confirm that attempting to open the alkane-don-juan score crashes MS4.4.3 on MacOS 13.5.2.
And that leaves me unable to look at the measures with reportedly corrupted Measure meter properties.
I remembered something that is probably relevant. This was originally a Sibelius file that I exported into XML and then imported into Musescore 3.
Also, I downloaded 3.6.2 and was able to open the earlier file. I fixed the two measures with content that didn't match the time signature and saved the file. When opening with 4.4.3 it asks if I want to convert, but then Musescore crashes. I have a Mac with the M1 chip and Sequoia 15.0.1.

Which version of Sibelius, and can you post the xml?

Probably Siblelius 3? I stopped upgrading at some point. Here are the original files.

The sib. file opens properly in Sibelius. But neither xml or mxl export will open properly in MuseScore. They also don't re-open properly in Sibelius.
Here is measure 10.

Which looks ok to me. So the file got corrupted or the XML export is not handling it?

(All of these versions repeat the same mistake in measure 10 that made my left eyeball fall out and roll under the bed. Still looking for it. Will update when I reinstall.)
