Problem in MuseScore 2.0b1 with repeats starting at the beginning of a staff?

• Sep 8, 2014 - 16:51

I attached a picture of what I think is a problem. I forced a new line in the score at the beginning of a repeat, but the repeat starting barline ends up both at the beginning of the line and at the end of the preceding line. This doesn't seem right. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this how it's supposed to work?

Thanks for any info.

- Mike.

have you selected the right barline?

If the barline is the correct one the graphic form is ok
(maybe I did not understand?)

I've attached 3 .mscz files, using the default score that comes up when I launch the program.

The first one, I put a left had repeat at measure 5 and a right repeat at measure 8.

The second one is after I delete the "newline" at the end of measure 4.

And the third is after I've put the "newline" back in by clicking on the left repeat between measures 4 and 5 and hitting the return key.

Note that after that last step, I have a left had repeat at the end of the first line after measure 4, and another left had repeat at the beginning of the second line before measure 5.

I believe that the correct behavior would be for the first and third scores to have the identical appearance.

I hope this makes it more clear.

Thanks! :-)

Thanks so much Marc.

That's exactly what I was wondering. If it wasn't a known bug I was going to file a new issue.

BTW... Job well done to you and all the other people that have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into 2.0. It's outstanding!
