Hide select instruments
If you're working on a complicated score and you want to focus on just one or more instruments, I was wondering about a feature where you'd mark the select instruments (via a tick box) you want to see?

I agree, that would be a very usefull feature. It could be possible to print or export to pdf just the selected instruments as well.

Support this feature.
Because otherwise it's not very useful when you want to print for example only Melody with Chords and Guitar/Bass guitar score.

It's already on the work for next major release. There will be a tab per part where you will be able to layout the part separatly. Any change in the score will be reflected in the part and vice versa.

Basic support for part extraction is already available in current versions of MuseScore. From the main menu choose File > Parts...

If I create a part for piano and delete a note in it, there's no change to the original score.
Is this correct?
I still like the tick-box idea.

The linked parts feature is in the nightly builds, not in 1.0. Seems to work pretty well; I'm very excited by this. But I see this as addressing a different need than the one originally discussed in this thread, which I think of as having to do more with looking at certain *combinations* of instruments at once in score for, not for looking at individual parts.
Yes, it worked - thanks Marc.
There's a few issues with it:
1) If I create a piano part, the instrument name has been doubled and stays above it leftward.
2) Small dots have been introduced at random.
3) The stem direction isn't preserved.
Using 2.0 nightly build (3996).
