Runtime Error
Hello,
I am running MuseScore 1.0 on Windows Vista Business. Each time I work on a score, I get the following error.
Microsoft Visual C++
This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
The error (and resulting program crash) usually happen about 30 minutes after having opened the program. I can't reproduce the error because I can't connect it to a specific action. The same error occurred in 9.6.3. I have seen reference to this error in this forum, but have not been able to find a solution.
Assistance is appreciated.

A crash is usually linked with a sequence of actions. Sometimes it can take a while to discover the exact sequence of actions that causes the crash. If you discover the steps that are causing MuseScore to crash for you, please share.

I am getting exactly the same issue as stated but it happens to me as soon as I run the program, it installed with no problems.

It means that there's a crash, when you try to start MuseScore?
Could you tell us, which Operating System (Windows 10, Mac, a Linux distribution?) and which version of MuseScore (2.0.3.?) you're using.
Do you have experiences to run MuseScore from the terminal to see, if there's any error messages?

I've managed to do the Windows Key +R and type "-F" at the end to reset it to factory default and it has solved it. It is Windows 10, and revision: 3c7a69d
I have this same problem. I have had to rewrite countless times due to this issue. It occurs when I try to paste a timpani staff from one MuseScore file to a full orchestral piece. Please help, this is very important. Also, I am having problems importing any midi files at all. I'm running version 1.1 on Windows 7.

Can you post a score you having trouble with, and exact steps to reproduce? Otherwise, it won't be possible for anyone to reproduce the problem, which is usually a prerequisite for anyone being able to fix it.
The main problem with pasting the timpani staff to the orchestral score is the bar repeat sign. It doesn't copy over without the program crashing. I still have not been able to import anything midi-wise however. I don't think it is my computer because I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times. Anytime I import any file my program crashes with the dialog box saying "MuseScore has stopped working".

Here's the file. I guess it may be the file that's corrupted, I recreated it at least 3 times though.

Yep, importing that file crashed MuseScore 1.1 for me, too. But in general MIDI import works just fine. Since you say it happens with every file, I wonder if it's the case that all your MIDI files are created by the same program, and something about the files created by that program is confusing MuseScore?

That may be the problem. But that's weird because the program I use has always worked before. Maybe I'll reinstall the midi export program.

Oh, I'm not saying there's necessarily a problem with that program. No matter what it does, MuseScore shouldn't crash. If the file is invalid, MuseScore should just out up an error message. So there's definitely a problem with MuseScore here. The files from your other program might be invalid, but it's also possible they they might be perfectly valid - just somehow different from the MIDI files created by other programs, and MuseScore might not be prepared to handle that particular difference.

How do I file this with the MuseScore company so that this bug can be squashed in the next update?

I don't think the error is in MS because about a year ago I had the same problem woth microsoft office and after alot of searching my computerstore found it, it was caused by JAVA Script

Attached is a disassembly text of the contents of the drumloop midi file
The disassembler accepted it as a valid midi file. Possible points of interest:
1) it contains pitchwheel controls
2) It contains multiple tracks, with several sending to channel 10
