‘Concert Pitch’ transposes chords too :-(
Here is the sax player again.
I edit my notes and chords in ‘Concert Pitch’. Switching to the saxophone instrument, MS transposes the notes, awesome, but unfortunately, the cords too. That’s kinda a problem, if the guitar plays along who plays in concert pitch and me in Eb.
I know what you are thinking, if so, then print the concert pitch also for the guitar. Yes I can do that, but I didn’t bring my computer when this guy with his guitar showed up. (We are a bunch of amateurs you know.)
Also, can I have the option: “measure numbers starting from number: -- ”

Here instead you might also untick "exclude from measure count" in the fist measure, which us a pickup measure and as such usually doesn't count

I do my music research in Cubase to find the notes. (Adding an instrument and practice to play along on the keyboard) Cubase has this feature to ‘Detect the tempo’ of an audio file. Some songs have this first ‘pickup measure’ but MS does not count that one and Cubase does. (See screenshot).
It means that the actual measure numbers of MS are 1 less than in Cubase. It isn’t a big deal but thanks to you guys, now I know how to adjust this and it makes life a little bit easier :-)
Ones I have all the notes figured out I make the score in MS in ‘Concert Pitch’, MS transposes them for me for my Eb instrument. I slow down the tempo in Cubase and practice with my sax in slow motion.
As far a “measure numbers starting from number: -- ” you can right click a measure and adjust the current measure count by entering a value in "Add to measure number." You can insert a negative number here. So if you're in measure 10 entering -5 will make that measure number to be shown as 5. This only affects the measure number display. When you click the measure the status bar will continue to report it as measure 10 since the status bar reports the physical measure in the score that you would use when you press Ctrl-f to find a measure.

Thanks :-)
If you find yourself often in this situation, consider adding a single one-line staff of a non-transposing instrument to attach the chords to.
Consider tweaking the staff properties such that measures/time/key/clef/stafflines are invisible.

I hope so. Better be prepared for a next opportunity :-)
Thanks for the advice.
You can write notes on the Concert-Pitch screen and write chords on the other (transposed) screen.

That’s a great idea. How come I didn’t figure that out myself :-(
The standard way of doing this in published music is to have multiple staves, one for the guitar, one for the saxophone. Each staff in the correct key for that instrument. Giving the guitar staff a single invisible line is certainly a possibility if you are trying to save space, but FWIW, this would not be standard. Actually showing both staves is preferable.

The option of a zero line staff just for the purpose of chord symbols has been discussed before.
