IMHO you have just typed UNDERSCORE too many times.
Just place at the end of "wald" press SPACE, then UNDERSCORE 5 times

I don't think so; it seems the proper number to me - one for each note. The line should stop short of the next syllable, but for reason it is overlapping. It does seem to eb a bug in the current development builds.
Indeed this is a bug of the current dev build - I have tested before writing, if I did something wrong ...
Still the same for the current nightly 5248e08 ...
I also tested, if deleting of the lute part helps. But didn't matter at all!
Here some new examples, that I stumbled upon with the current nightly 221f20b :
It is an Aria by Stölzel, where I didn't change anything regarding layout, so this should be default.
Example 1 shows, how the underscore overlaps, here even the syllable before touches the next one, the underscore going directly under it.
Example 2 is in the automatically made part. Here the syllables touch and the hyphen is somewhere in the midst of all these letters ...
Still a problem in the newest build ff1258a
I cannot even open the attached file in the current master:
Don't understand why that should happen, the (xml/mscx) code looks clean to me (for the volta in measure 7, which BTW is too long and overlaps with the volta in measure 8):
I created #271283: can't open score created with earlier development build for that bad format issue
Relates to #272131: [EPIC] Text editing issues
Open the file in 2.3.2 and save as... See attached score.
Anyway, the case is not reproducible anymore.
