Works fine in 2.3.2 and current master, inside MuseScore, hiding a syllable hides the following lyrics-dash or -melisma.
But indeed doesn't work in the PDF export!

They print to paper, too.
In MuseScore, with 'Show Invisible' disabled, the faded '_' or '-' remains visible.
yet another variant of the same underlying bug I suppose. And I believe printing and export to PDF use basically the same internal mechanisms, so that printout is affected too is not too surprising.
What is surprising though is that it went unnoticed so long ;-), so good catch!
True. :-D
And shouldn't a 'don't show invisible' also hide the invisible dash and melisma? It looks pretty strange, having an empty lyrics line with just them shown. Well, still shown as 'invisible'. Probably solving the visibility will also fix the print...
Yep, it should (and I missunderstood you first)
Finding it was just a coincidence. I doubled 2 lines of the score (as intro) and didn't want to remove the lyrics at that point.
Thanks!
