Project
Open the attached score (created in 2.3.2) that contains a cresc. line with the dashed line invisible (inspector: uncheck line visible). The dashed line is not displayed (even though show invisible is selected). Turn off autoplacement. The dashed line is displayed and is visible (rather than invisible).
Also, selecting line visible in the inspector has no effect on a cresc. or dim. line.
This issue with autoplacement does not occur with a new cresc. or dim. line that is added from the lines pallette.

There have been fixes in this area, and I can no longer reproduce. Line is grayed out on screen, toggling autoplacement doesn't change this, and toggling line visile works as well. Reopen if you still see issues, and provide more details.

This picture is from the latest nightly OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.4282, revision: 33a1dae
As you can see, show invisible is off, but the invisible line is still shown gray, this is even after clicking something else, so not a problem using the shortcut in another issue.
Ah, true, but that's a different issue :-). The original was about having "show invisible" on and then toggling other settings. But I can verify it doesn't disappear when toggling show invisible off. As it, I think this is another aspect of #279176: Removing check from line visible has no effect, which I am reopening.

Very good, I only responded to your previous post. As you know, that's easy to do.
