Changing names of instruments
Hello.
I am using Musescore to map an arrangement I am rcording in Audacity. I have changed the names of the instruments in my score in order to reflect the roles they play in the arrangement. All's well, until the line break where Musescore reverts to the original names of the instruments I selected when I began the score. Am I just going to have to change the names again after every line break?
Thanks.

Line berak? Do you mean System Break, Page Break or Section Break (hind: adfetr a section break the long instrumentname is supposed to show, so don't use that when you really mean system break)?
How did you change the instrument names, via staff properities of via an instrument change text (hint: use the former, for both, the long and the short name)?

The first page is OK. The second reverts to the instrument names.

You only changed the long instrument names but not the "short" ones (the abbreviated names that are used on all but the first line in scores).

So I can't change the names on the second page? Wait. I changed the names in the second page and now it carries over to every following page. FIXED.

As said earlied, you need to change both, the long and the short instrument name

That not a score but a picture of the score. Starting on page 2 the Short name is being displayed. You can't change this, but you can change the short names just like you did the long names.

Mike - Here is the mscx file. Is that the correct one?

yes. But no longer needed as you meanwhile figured out to change the short instrument name too ;-)

Looks good now. I see that after I changed the long names, all I needed to do was click on the short names and they changed automatically. Nifty.

It seems you already fixed it. I didn't know if you double clicked the part names to edit them or used staff properties. As I said, starting on page 2, the short name is displayed. As you discovered, fixing the names on page 2 (using either method) fixed the names on all subsequent pages.
And yes, the mscx file is the actual score.

OK. I found my way as we were posting. Not difficult at all.
