Tempo issues
Im writing a 6/8 march and when I try and put in a doted quarter note = 110 It the tempo doesn't change.

dotted quarter = 110 ⇒ quarter = 165. And MuseScore (and MIDI) measures tempo in quarter notes per minute
Ah, I see it plays with 120BPM instead...
Workaround (and I've seen this at least the 2nd time now): delete all linked parts, save, generate the parts anew

Use file->parts... delete all of the parts and make them again.
