I have only seen 15mo, I think (though I've also seen 16 followed by various letters!), but Gardner Read's Manual says 15ma. (I've never understood why ottava is feminine, either...) Anyway, quindicesimo is Italian for fifteenth.

No, all intervals in Italian are femenine ordinals:

You don't need to undestand it, it's just how romance languages work.
