Currently, the measure numbers set up by MuseScore appear regardless of if their parent measure has a rehearsal mark attached; this often causes collisions and looks especially weird if the rehearsal marks use numbers. An option to hide measure numbers in rehearsal-marked measures would be ideal, such as a "Hide when rehearsal mark is present" checkbox in Style > General > Header, Footer, Numbers.
Comments
For the record, the current solution is to explicitly set the measure number to not appear using measure properties. It has been observed that this doesn't current work in mmrests. That should probably be filed as a separate bug report.
Ah, true. I'll create an issue for that as well, then.
Came up again in https://musescore.org/en/node/325487
FWIW this can be worked around using a plugin: https://musescore.org/en/project/hide-rehearsal-mark-measure-numbers
(Requires you to select a/any measure number, then run the plugin, pending https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/10358.)
When I'm editing a score with rehearsal marks composed of bar numbers rather than letters, I might be changing the locations of these, and the workaround means either continually remembering to use the plugin, or adding another step to my publication checklist. It'd be great to just have this handled by MuseScore so the software helps me out rather than adding manual work :-)
