You may wish to move certain objects - notes horizontally to correct current problems. However, I'm not sure there's a need to move notes vertically (perhaps we won't have to move them at all, in the future).
Is there consideration to remove that function?
Currently using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (4595) - Mac 10.6.8.

I think a feature can only be removed if no one uses it and/or there's always a better solution. The ability to vertically drag notes is not useless. Also, from 3.4 dragging notes horizontally-only can be achieved without entering "edit mode" (double-click), so you don't have to worry about a vertical offset along the way.

There has been a very recent discussion where the user got a A instead of a F by moving vertically without wanting.
Perhaps that kind of option would still make sense ?
