Note that hyphens are placed on various levels (marked with blue and orange lines) accordingly to the height of the outer box of previous syllable: [see attachment]

I assume it's by design rather than a bug, but I think it should be changed so all hyphens are placed on the same height.

Looks like a different issue to me as well - this one is brand new for 3.0, and more serious too, I think. Not just a subjective impression that the hyphen is too high overall, but an inconsistency in height.
