There is a number 8 below the G clef on every staff line in music that I am notating. Can you tell me how to get rid of it and why it is even there? Thank you. Judi Snyder
It an indication that the notes are an octave lower. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/clef. The G8vb clef is typically used for Tenor, the high male singing voice, while Soprano and Alto use the normal G clef.
