even staves on page

• Nov 2, 2016 - 09:18

Looking for this information. I have one stave that reaches right across the page. Most untidy. I like to squash them all together. I've tried page settings and reduced the page widths and types of page / letter, folio etc but I am at a hurdle.

Not quite sure what you're asking, but it sounds like you are having some sort of problem with the horizontal length of one or more staves? Normally all staves should have the same length - the page width minus whatever you have defined as the left and right margins, in Layout / Page Settings. Only the last system might be different - it might be shorter, if it does not exceed the fill threshold specified in Style / General / Page. I don't know what you mean when you say you "like to squash them all together".

Actually, I see one measure - i.e. the very last one - that reaches across the page.
If you click on, and delete, the line break at measure 20, that final measure (#21) will move above.

Another way is to change the 'Last system fill threshold' in Style -> General -> Page. This will retain the measure's location, but reduce its physical length. (Set it to a large value - like 100)
