Automatic Set Tempo In Musescore 2, What is it?

• Dec 9, 2016 - 03:26

Hey! so I have written a full score with 7 parts and am ready for it to be put into practice with my ensemble, but I was wondering, what is the standard automatic tempo in Musescore 2? need to include it so my players are able to practice on their own! thank you so much!

Default tempo for a new score created using the 'New Score Wizard' is 120 bpm. You can change this by inserting Tempo Text from the main palette F9 or by clicking on the first note of the score and typing ALT + T.

The numerical value of the metronome marking is editable as plain text. Double-click on the tempo text, then erase and replace the numbers with what you want.

You can also see the current tempo by pressing F11 to bring up the play panel and the tempo is displayed toward the top left. Just hit the play quickly to ensure it is showing the tempo at the point you are looking at and not the last tempo it played.

This feature attempts to deduce the tempo-value from the entered text and to set the tempo attribute accordingly, but in fact the two remain separate.   You can, if you wish, independently set this and any other attributes no matter what the words say.
