Another crush after changes with measure stretch

• Jun 30, 2012 - 10:24

Hi, guys.

Have this situation once earlier.

I have another crush after changes with measure stretch. From 1.0 to 1.2 etc.
I copied measures from 18 to 36, and put it after 44 measure then it crushed. Copied measures was stretched.

And I noticed another thing. Stretched measures at first sheet open after saving are not 100% conformity. Let us say, one tacts ore two have discrepant strecth. After correction and second saving it's good. It was when i begin to strecth the first tacts - long before crush.

Now i can't do any actions with my sheet - it got crush in any case.
In past Lasconic has cut the crushed part, may be anyone from developers can help me in this way.

There was a corruption at bar 50 which caused this mess.

I found it by resetting stretch for the entire piece, when it revealed itself by leaving space at the end of a line.

I re-entered those notes into an inserted bar, and then deleted the bars one by one starting at the end of the music. Unfortunately deleting the corrupt bar also removed all the empty bars at the end, so I have appended 32, but you will have to add the rest.

I then recopied and pasted section.

All seems to be well, but you will have to redo your stretch - best to leave that to the ned anyway.

1. I cut two measures from 4/4 sheet and put them to 5/4 sheet, because i understood that 4/4 is not what i need for my score, so the measures was perfectly set to 5/4 as they are, no problem.

2. But then i cloned them in 5/4 sheet yet and got the same crush with empty measures, so one more actions and as usual all sheet will be crushed.

In next topic i try to describe full steps with demo sheets, can't show originaly.

One thing I have found, as you have done, in 1.2 is that copying or pasting irregular measures (ie not the original time signature) can result in the corruption you are experiencing.

I was working on a piece of unmetrical music the other day with constantly changing actual time signatures, and Musescore flatly refused to insert a bar without corrupting the next 2. Thankfully the corruption revealed itself immediately, so I was able to use undo. In the end I added bars at the end and cut+pasted the section then removed the bars I didn't want.

The soon to be released 2.0 seems to be a little more stable in this respect.

Do you know about ScreenR ?

It can be very useful when trying to show what you are doing.
