Can't use arrows after changing note value

Context: commit ddb0ebabb6 (2012-12-21)

Steps:
1) Open a score
2) Select a note head
3) Change its value (shorter or longer does not matter): the note is still selected (blue)
4) Try to move to previous or next note (chord) with the [Left] or [Right] arrow:

Result: selection does not move; a mouse click (even on that same note head) is necessary to restore the functionality of the arrow keys.

Expected result: the previous / next chord (or rest) is selected.
