How Do I Delete All The Whole Rests

• Jul 14, 2017 - 17:23

Hi. I am new here. I just downloaded the software.

I started a new project (piano staff). It came up with whole rests in every measure.
I can't seem to delete them. I need to delete them all. HOw do I do this or get a new project not to insert whole rests into every measure?

Also, how do I add more measures?

FYI- I am just trying to make a basic chart for a piano player. I'm gonna put guitar chords under each measure so they can follow along with the song structure, they would have the staff there if needed to write anything in.

Thanks!

Normally, indeed, you would not delete the rests, just enter the notes and the rests do the right thing automatically.

For the sake of completeness, however, I should mention that there are certain cases where you might want to hide the rests, like if you are trying to print out blank manuscript paper. In which case, select all (Ctrl+A) then press "V" to toggle the visibility.

Ahhhh yes, of course, I understand what you are saying. I was just trying to make some simple charts for a piano player. One where she could see the structure of the song and the key and time signatures. I was gonna put guitar chords underneath the measures, then enter lyrics in. She was gonna handwrite in her own "parts". I will just download some blank staff paper and use my sloppy handwriting!!
